If your child’s location isn’t updating in the Family Orbit app on their iOS device, it may be due to one of the following issues. Use this guide to troubleshoot:
-
Ensure Location Services Are Enabled
- On your child’s iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Make sure Location Services are turned ON.
- Scroll down to Family Orbit - Jr. and ensure the permission is set to Always Allow
-
Turn On Precise Location
- In the same Location Services settings, ensure Precise Location is toggled ON for accurate tracking.
-
Enable Background App Refresh
- Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and ensure it is enabled for Family Orbit - Jr. This allows the app to update location data in the background.
-
Disable Low Power Mode
- If Low Power Mode is enabled, it can restrict background activity. Navigate to Settings > Battery and ensure Low Power Mode is turned OFF.
-
Check Internet Connectivity
- Ensure your child’s device has an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data). Location updates require a stable connection to sync with the app.
-
Update to the Latest Version
- Open the App Store, search for Family Orbit - Jr., and ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
-
Restart the Device
- Restarting the iPhone can resolve temporary software issues affecting location updates.
-
Verify App Permissions
- Go to Settings > Family Orbit - Jr. and confirm that all required permissions, including location and notifications, are enabled.
If the issue persists after following these steps, please contact Family Orbit Support for further assistance. Provide details about the device and any troubleshooting steps already taken to ensure a quicker resolution.
