What Are the Requirements for Monitoring with iCloud?

To monitor your child's iPhone through iCloud, the following requirements must be met:

Pre-requisites for iCloud Monitoring:

• You must have access to the iCloud login credentials (Apple ID and password) for your child’s device.
• iCloud Backup must be enabled on your child’s iPhone.
• Find My iPhone must be enabled on the device. This allows location data to be included in the iCloud backup.
• If Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled on the Apple ID, you will need access to the child's device to retrieve and enter the verification code during setup.

Conditions for Backup to Sync Successfully:

For the information to be uploaded to your Family Orbit Control Panel, the iCloud backup should meet these criteria:

• The target device is connected to Wi-Fi.
• The device is connected to a power source (charging).
• The screen of the target device is locked (backup usually occurs automatically during this state).

Important Note on 2FA:

While it is possible to monitor devices with 2FA enabled, you may occasionally be required to enter a new verification code when Apple prompts for one. We recommend keeping 2FA enabled for enhanced account security and being prepared to enter codes as needed.
